Set you how you want grades entered and if you want the weighted
On the Grade Settings tab, you can review the selected class’s grading scale, assignment categories and other Gradebook options. With Engrade, you can set up a grading scale for your class a number of different ways. Under the Grading Scale header, you can set up a custom grading scale or choose from options provided by Engrade. You can also elect to manually enter grades.
Under the Assignment Categories header, you can create weighted or unweighted categories in your class in which your assignments can be organized. Select Yes to weight assignment categories. In the category column, enter the desired assignment category name. If you have chosen to weight assignment categories, enter the numerical weights to the right of each category, ensuring that your weights add up to 100%.
You can choose to drop the lowest assignment score for students in your class for any of your assignment categories by checking the box to the right of a category. As a note, the lowest score dropped may vary across students in your class because Engrade will automatically drop the assignment that most negatively affects each student’s overall grade. Since Engrade calculates student grades based on points, the assignment with the largest discrepancy between points earned vs. points possible will be dropped. Additionally, Engrade will only drop an assignment score once a student has at least two graded assignments in an assignment category.
Under the Options header, you can configure additional Gradebook options, including: student sorting, assignment sorting, grade rounding and grade percentage visibility. Click Save Settings to save any changes.
